Preparation for a Veterans Day parade was underway Thursday.
The local Veterans Affairs Department, VFW Post 97, put together a float for this year’s parade with the theme “Combat Medics”.
The chairman of the float said they have created a scene similar to the popular 1970’s TV show M*A*S*H.
The parade will be held in downtown Bakersfield starting at 22nd and L Street from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The event is free.
