KERN COUNTY, Calif. — Starting Friday the Golden Empire Transit District all get fixed-route and get-a-lift services will be free to military veterans.

According to GET bus officials, the free rides for veterans will last during the entire month of November. GET's CEO Karen King says they are proud to provide our brave servicemen and women with 30 days of free rides in honor of Veterans Day.

To use the service all local veterans have to do is simply show their military ID when they board.
