A local church is holding an event on Saturday geared toward creating peace in the community.

Victory Outreach Southwest Bakersfield Church is holding Code Red "Peace in Our City." in east Bakersfield on June 2.

It's being held at Martin Luther King Jr. Park on South Owens Street and East California Avenue. 

There will be free haircuts, food, face painting, nail polish, painting and live music.

The community is invited to attend this free event.
