23ABC is learning new details leading up to the arrest of Kaleb Kessinger, the man accused of killing his girlfriend's 2-year-old son.
Last month, the body of Ramon Angel Reyes-Chavez was found in the Kern River Canyon.
In newly obtained surveillance video from the Travelodge, a man is seen paying for room 134, the same room Kessinger was staying in when police arrested him on April 28. A receipt for room 134 identifies Enrique Romero as the person who purchased and signed for the room.
23ABC interviewed Enrique Romero who said he did pay for Kessinger's room but did not know his friend was wanted for murder at the time.
Romero says Kessinger is a "good guy" and doesn't think he would be capable of killing a child.
