BAKERSFIELD, Callif. — Emergency crews are responding to a vegetation fire near the I-5 at Grapevine Rd.

The Kern County Fire Department says the Vine Fire is at 7-10 acres in very steep terrain with ground and air resources on scene.

Containment as of 6:30 a.m. is estimated at 20%.

The fourth southbound lane of the I-5 near Grapevine Rd. is currently closed due to emergency vehicle activity.
