The Volunteer Center of Kern County will be donating handmade lap quits to senior disabled veteran's in honor of Veteran's Day on November 11, 2017. The volunteer center will be dropping off the quilts on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the VA Clinic on Westwind Drive.
Donating the handmade quilts is all part of the Community Service Program. Volunteers sew, design, and create the handmade quilts for local veterans to showcase their appreciation.
The project began in 2017 with quilts given to local veterans through various places like the cancer treatment centers, senior care living facilities, and the VA clinic.
Today's distribution will be the first at the VA clinic.
