A family-friendly walk is happening Saturday morning in northeast Bakersfield to benefit local families with sick children.

Walk for Kids is at CALM on June 2 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 5K walk raises funds and awareness for the services and programs provided by the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House. 

Since the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House opened in 2009, more than 3,000 families facing the illness of a child have been provided services.

Last month, the Ronald McDonald House announced their expansion to help another 500 families annually. 

CALM is at 10500 Alfred Harrell Highway.
