Multiple sclerosis affects more than 2.e million people around the world. And an annual walk is trying to make that statistic disappear.

Walk MS: Bakersfield is teaming up with friends, loved-ones and co-workers to help change the world for people who are affected with MS.

Across the country last year over 300,000 people raised more than 50 million dollars at 550 locations.

The walk started at 9:30 a.m. at the Park at River Walk. More than 800 people were expected to raise more than 70,000 dollars. Walkers could take part in a 1K Family Fun Run or a 5K.
