Walmart removes shirt after RTDNA urging

Posted

A controversial t-shirt that threatens journalists was being sold online at Walmart.

Wednesday the t-shirt was removed from their website after RTDNA sent a letter to Walmart's high executives requesting the shirt to be taken down.

The shirt read "Rope. Tree. Journalist. SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED," was being sold on Walmart.com by a third-party seller, Teesprings.com.

According to the RTDNA website, "RTDNA Executive Director Dan Shelley sent a letter pointing out that the message sent by the shirts could “at the least … inflame the passions of those who either don’t like, or don’t understand, the news media. At worst, they openly encourage violence targeting journalists.”
