The city of Tehachapi approved building permits Tuesday with Eleven Western Builders Inc., making it possible to begin building a new Walmart store by next week.
And although the process toward finalizing these plans took about nine years, said city Development Services Director Jay Schlosser, the Eleven Western Builders Inc., expects the new Walmart store to be finished by spring 2019.
Construction will begin at the lot of Tucker Road and Tehachapi Boulevard.
