As local country artists gathered at the Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame to honor the late Merle Haggard, hundreds packed the house to celebrate the legend's life.
Over 28 artists played Haggard songs or originals that were dedicated to the likes of Haggard, Buck Owens and Red Simpson.
Though not publicized, the turnout resulted in standing room only. The event was originally slated to run from 2-6, but the performances continued well past the end time.
