Thousands of Southern California Edison customers in Kern County without power due to PSPS

KERN COUNTY, Calif. (KERO) — Nearly 2,900 Southern California Edison customers in Kern County are without power due to a Public Safety Power Shutoff.

SoCal Edison initially reported that more than 12,000 customers would be under consideration for a PSPS due to high winds expected in the area.

There's currently 2,916 SoCal Edison customers in Kern County without power. There's another 5,907 customers under consideration for a PSPS.

There are residents in the Bear Valley Springs, Lebec and Onyx areas currently without power. Full power is expected to be restored by 9 p.m. tonight.

Pacific Gas & Electric is reporting 23 customers are under consideration for a PSPS.
