BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Anyone who takes the Westside Parkway from Truxtun Avenue will need to re-route Tuesday night.
The westbound Westside Parkway on-ramp from Truxtun Avenue will be closed Tuesday night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
The closure is needed to remove the temporary walkway that was used to construct the barrier rail on the new Kern River Bridge, which crosses over the on-ramp. And on Wednesday during the same hours, the Westside Parkway eastbound off-ramp to Truxtun Avenue is set to be closed for similar construction.
During this time Truxtun Avenue will be closed in both directions between the westbound Westside Parkway on-ramp and Commercial Way. Motorists can use either California Avenue or Rosedale Highway to detour around the closure.
All lanes and ramps are expected to re-open in time for the morning commute.
