While several fireworks shows around Kern County have been canceled this year there are still a few that are going on.

Friday night at 9 p.m. a show is happening at Buttonwillow Park in Buttonwillow. Residents are encouraged to remain in their vehicles.

Two shows are taking place on Independence Day. The city of Taft is holding a free drive-in fireworks show in the area of Franklin Field around 8 p.m. And Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake will be holding a show at 9 p.m. Saturday.
