Fire officials tell 23ABC a three acre brush fire broke out on a Fort Tejon property in Lebec around three Sunday afternoon.

One airdrop was used to put out the fire, which was near some cattle on the property.

No livestock were injured by the fire.

Traffic on I-5 was backed up for about two miles because of smoke and blockages but now that the fire is out, traffic should resume normally soon.

A brush fire broke out Sunday afternoon in Lebec near the southbound Interstate 5 lanes.

The California Highway Patrol closed the right lane near the Lebec Road exit as they work to put out the fire.

Southbound traffic has been slowed by the closure as wind continues to carry smoke back towards the interstate.

We will continue to update this story when more information becomes available.
