The National Weather Service extended a Wind Advisory for Kern County through 7 p.m. Saturday evening.

This is an extension of an initial Wind Advisory was issued around 11 p.m. Friday night, and was set to expire by 1 p.m. this afternoon.

Blowing dust is possible and may impact visibility.

Recorded wind gusts around 12:45 p.m. Saturday afternoon were 37 mph in Taft, 39 mph at Bakersfield Meadows Field Airport, 52 mph at the Grapevine peak, and 34 mph in Allentown.

High winds are expected in front of a cold front that will bring probably rain chances across Kern County.
