BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Beant Dhillon, the woman accused of killing a newborn baby boy and burying him in their home's backyard, was in court Wednesday.
The 43-year-old is currently facing first-degree murder charges for allegedly drowning her hours-old grandson after her teen daughter gave birth at home.
Dhillion allegedly killed the newborn to prevent family shame and buried the body in their Southwest Bakersfield backyard.
She has previously entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.
On Wednesday she appeared in court for a hearing but her date was pushed back to May 15.
