BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On November 28, 2018, deputies responded to the Kern County Fire station #41 after firefighters returned to their station and noticed that some of their personal items had been moved around and some of their belongings had been stolen.

According to officials, the firefighters had responded to a fire early in the morning and noticed a woman standing outside the station and when they returned found that a wallet and cash was missing.

Deputies circulated the area and after a brief search located the woman and positively identified her based off of security footage and the descriptions that the firefighters gave.

According to deputies, 51-year-old Angie Maese disposed of the wallet but with a positive identification was arrested and booked for commercial burglary.

The Kern County District Attorney announced today that a jury found Maese guilty and she faces 7 years at sentencing.
