The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified the woman whose body was found in a home in Tehachapi on Friday.

The coroner's office reports the body of 23-year-old Cheyenne Sara Watkins was found in a home in the area of Kid Place and Westwood Boulevard on Friday. 

Homicide investigators were called to the scene and took over the investigation. 

Watkins died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to the coroner's office.
