Woman found with $6,000 in quarters in baby stroller due in court

BAKESFIELD, Calif — A woman is due in court Tuesday after being arrested during a chance encounter with Bakersfield Police Department detectives.

BPD detectives saw 29-yr-old Darrin Fritz struggling to push a baby stroller in the area of 5100 Ojai Court. The detectives stopped to check on the woman and found $6,000 in quarters.

Fritz reportedly tried to run away, but police caught her. After an investigation officials learned that Fritz had just burglarized a home in East Bakersfield.

She was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of meth and more.

The money was returned to the victim.
