A woman is in the hospital after being stuck by a vehicle near the intersection of Union Ave. and 21st Street in Downtown Bakersfield on Sunday evening.
Bakersfield Police are investigating; they said the woman, who is in her 30's, suffered moderate injuries after being struck by the car in the southbound lanes. She was taken to a local hospital.
The woman was crossing Union Ave. south of 21st Street not in a crosswalk, according to preliminary investigations.
The driver of the vehicle who hit her stayed on scene.
Drugs, alcohol, and speed do not appear to be factors for the driver. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor for the adult female.
