Woman rescued from house fire in East Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Fire Department answered to a house fire on Earl Avenue Tuesday evening.

According to the department, crews were dispatched around 4:40 p.m. They were able to rescue a woman that was inside the residence at the time of the fire. Her condition is unknown at the time but KCFD did confirm she was taken to a local hospital.

A crew of 21 firefighters were able to quickly put out the blaze. The cause of the fire is unknown but a family member did tell KCFD that the woman does smoke.
