BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office identified the woman who was killed after leaving a bar in Northwest Bakersfield early Sunday morning as 40-year-old Tiffany Bronte Sanders.
The accident happened just before 2 a.m. on Fruitvale Avenue and Hageman Road near the Pour House bar.
California Highway Patrol says officers arrived on the scene and found Sanders, who was struck by an M&S Security vehicle. Sanders suffered major injuries and was taken to Kern Medical where she later died.
A postmortem examination determined Sanders' cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma and the manner of death is an accident.
According to CHP the 25-year-old driver was reaching down to pick up an item and when he looked up he hit the woman. Officials say they are unsure why she was out on the road.
No arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing
