UPDATE (Oct. 31 3:45 p.m.): Ashley Collom says her grandfather's ashes that were stolen last weekend have been returned.
=======================
Ashley Collom returned home Friday to discover her house had been broken into. Her door was wide open, dogs set loose and many precious items stolen. These include a 50 inch black television, jewelry and an apple watch.
Collom says ideally, all items would be returned, but the most precious item that was stolen was an urn with her grandfather's ashes in it. To her, this item is more important than the others.
"It's kinda like losing that person. It's almost like they died again," said Collom.
Some of the jewelry stolen was also sentimental. Two gold chains belonging to her father and grandfather were stolen. Also, multiple flannels were taken, among those a dark Hurley flannel that stands out as the most important.
Collom says she does not want to press charges, she just wants her loved one's ashes back.
"I just want my grandpa's ashes back. Keep the jewelry, keep everything else, go make your money. I just want my grandpa's ashes, that's something I'm never going to be able to get back," said Collom.
