The offices of Advanced Women's Health Center on Brimhall Road are closed while officers from the Kern County's District Attorney conduct an investigation.

Dr. Jason Helliwall is being investigated by the State Department of Insurance.

Dr. Helliwall is a practicing gynecologist and cosmetic surgeon at the healthcare.

Patients are being turned away and have not been given any other details.

Several office workers and medical assistance were told to go home.

Officials put a temporary closed sign on the door when patients showed up Wednesday morning. 

An officer with the DA Office says the Department of Insurance is leading the investigation. 

Multiple afternoon patients have arrived dumbfounded to see the temporarily closed signs on the door.

One women who didn't want to speak on camera said she had a scheduled c-section

Another made the drive from Bodfish. Says she's received excellent patient care, but wasn't shocked to see the signs.
