BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department and Kern County Sheriff's Office are investigating two separate thefts involving the same victim.
According to BPD, on Saturday November 30 a 70-year-old woman's purse was stolen from her car while she was getting gas at the Velardo gas station on South Union. Two days later the woman says the same thieves came to her house and stole her burgundy Hyundai Sonata from her driveway.
In exclusive surveillance video obtained by 23ABC you can see both a man and another person step outside of a dark blue Chrysler at the gas station. A person exits the Chrysler and steals the woman's purse along with spare car keys. Two days later on Tuesday December 3 KCSO says they received a call for a stolen burgundy Hyundai Sonata around 3:48 a.m. from the 600 block of Washington Street in east Bakersfield.
As of now neither BPD or KCSO have any suspect descriptions.
If you have information on the stolen purse, call BPD at 327-7111. If you have information on the stolen car call KCSO at 861-3110.
