BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — As part of The Wonderful Company's weekly basket distribution event, officials said as of Friday they have distributed free company-branded hand sanitizers and other essential supplies in more than 13,000 baskets through drive-thrus at eight different operation sites.
In just three weeks the company told 23ABC News that they have distributed the family baskets to get essential items including paper goods, fresh produce, dairy and eggs to families in need.
According to the company, they found a manufacturer in Wisconsin who was able to produce a special order of 1,500 gallons of gel sanitizer and they purchased it in bulk. They said that they then acquired a filling machine and set up a production line to fill 10,000 Wonderful Company-branded 8oz bottles.
These hand sanitizers are being distributed at their business operation sites in Delano, Lost Hills, Firebaugh, Del Rey, El Dorado, Shafter, Kings and Stratford.
