BAKERSFIELD, CA. — World Spay Day is an annual day of awareness toward spaying and neutering your pet. The day falls on the last Tuesday of every February.
The world-wide celebration has been happening for 25 years. Shelters and animal services across in over 70 countries raise awareness and provide resources to inform the community on the importance of spaying and neutering your pet.
"Today we have over 100 cat spay appointments," says Nick Cullen, Kern County Animal Services Director.
The shelter is accepting walk-in appointments from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.
