Wrong-way driver on I-5 triggers high-speed pursuit near Grapevine

The California Highway Patrol are involved in a high-speed pursuit on southbound Interstate 5.

According to the CHP, initial reports of a wrong-way driver at Fort Tejon Road came in just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The driver was driving northbound on the southbound side.

The driver has corrected and is headed south and is nearing the Grapevine.

According to the CHP, the driver has reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour, and has missed a spike strip that was laid out to subdue their vehicle. 

The CHP says no traffic is being impacted.
