A local teacher is showing us how she is makin' it and also helping local students stay healthy and keep moving while on quarantine.

Carrie Swidecki, a fourth-grade teacher from Laurelglen Elementary, is spending her time at home during the outbreak working out using popular video games: Just Dance and Dance Dance Revolution.

You may recognize as the local woman who broke 13 Guinness World Records while playing the games for hours-long marathons. Now she says her focus is to help kids stay moving while being stuck at home.

"The reality today is its distance learning because of COVID-19. And I have been streaming every day on Twitch for two to three hours to try to get kids moving from home," said Swidecki. "I know I'm not used to it. I used to walking around my classroom 8 hours a day. But it's so important in this climate that kids have got to get moving."

Swidecki said she will always be a crusader in the fight against childhood obesity and will not let the coronavirus outbreak stop her from moving and from motivating others to move.
