A Mississippi mom-to-be mourning her late husband found a touching way to pay him tribute--by incorporating him into her maternity photo shoot.
"I wanted to do something special because he's been there for my son since day one," Nicole Bennett of Jackson, Mississippi told ABC News today. "It's memories for my son of his father and for my daughter who will never meet her father, it's memories for her as well."
Bennett, who is 9 months pregnant, said on Jan. 5, her husband Deonta died unexpectedly--just a little over 2 months prior to her upcoming March 25 due date.
Prior to his death, Bennett said her husband wanted to do a maternity shoot with the family.
She later reached out to local photographer, Sidney Conley, with ideas on how to incorporate the late dad into a photo session with her son Landen, 4.
Conley, who shot the photos on Feb. 22, told ABC News that he was able to add images of Deonta to the photos, digitally--something he had never done before.
"It brings me to tears, looking at the photos myself," Conley said. "Just how I edited [the photos] with him looking down on them, it's showing that he's making sure they're OK."
While she was skeptical at first, Bennett said Conley did "a wonderful job."
"I expected them to be good, but they came out perfect," she said. "[My husband] was a very down-to-earth man, so he probably would've had our photographer laughing like he did during our engagement photos."
Conley posted Bennet's photography session onto his Facebook page, where it has been shared over 89,000 times.
