Airports to stop taking Missouri licenses in 2018

Airports to stop taking Missouri licenses

and last updated

In a little over a year Missouri residents won’t be able to use their driver’s license as a form of identification at airports.

Instead, Missouri residents must use their passport, even to board domestic flights.

The change is part of the REAL ID Act, which was passed in 2005 in an effort to establish minimum-security standards for identification cards.

The act states that effective January 22, 2018 TSA will only accept state-issued driver’s licenses or identification cards if they are issued by a REAL ID compliant state. Missouri is currently not listed as compliant.
