BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says flu season activity is at its highest over last week's report.

For the week of February 2, influenza-like-illness (ILI) is at 4.3 percent, which is above the national level of 2.2 percent. This is an increase from 3.8 percent from the week prior. The CDC also says that flu activity is expected to remain elevated for a "number of weeks".

The state of California experienced "moderate ILI activity", according to the CDC.
