BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Many American children aren't getting their vaccinations because of the pandemic. In some areas, the number of childhood immunizations is down by more than 42%, according to the American Academy of Pediatricians.

The American Academy of Pediatricians published new recommendations to keep kids safe during the pandemic. The new recommendations ask pediatricians to re-double efforts to make sure children get their vaccines.

Pediatricians are recommended to set up different clinic hours to separate well children from the sick, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
