Kern County Congressman Kevin McCarthy is in Israel with dozens of representatives as part of a mission to show unity and support to the country.
McCarthy talked about the possibility of restoring peace to the region that's constantly in the middle of conflict.
"We can't get all the way to world peace because it's so complex, but there are ways we can make the world safer and this region better. I've been coming here for a number of years. I've seen people who weren't talking together actually working together. So, that is progress."
On Monday McCarthy met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and also visited the Israeli Iron Dome Defense System. Including McCarthy, there are 71 Congress members in Israel, the largest ever congressional delegation to the nation.
