LOUISVILLE, KY. — Country House wins 145th running of the Kentucky Derby Saturday at Churchill Downs after a disqualification of race favorite, Maximum Security.

Heavy rains downgraded the track from fast to sloppy.

Maximum Security had won all five races he had entered prior to the Derby. He initially crossed the finish line first, followed by Country House and Code of Honor. An objection was filed and Maximum Security was disqualified after it was determined the horse interfered with the path of several horses.

Country House pulled off a huge upset as a 65-1 long shot entering the race.
