BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Arvin Union School District will close all their schools beginning Wednesday.

"Added restrictions from the governor's office lead us, along with other schools in Kern County, to hold classes this Monday and Tuesday and cancel classes beginning Wednesday the 18th through the end of spring break," an AUSD statement says.

The district has prepared packets for students to work on from home and are preparing to serve bagged meals to students beginning Wednesday, according to the statement.

The district also asks parents to plan for child-care during the closures.
