The Greenfield Union School District announced it is closing schools starting Wednesday through April 14 amid coronavirus concerns.

According to the district, on Monday all schools will be on a regular schedule and on Tuesday schools will be on a minimum day schedule.

On Sunday Governor Gavin Newsom announced that Kern County was the only district, among 25 of the largest districts in California, to remain open during the coronavirus.

Less than 24 hours later, the Kern County Superintendent of Schools announced recommendations that school districts in the county close by Wednesday. Since then, several districts have announced closures.
