A couple is suing online retailer Amazon after last week's solar eclipse after the couple claimed that counterfeit glasses did not protect their eyes during the eclipse, Reuters reported.  

Corey Payne and his fiancée, Kayla Harris said they purchased a three-pack of solar eclipse glasses designed to allow for safe viewing of last week's solar eclipse. 

Citing court records, Retuers said following the eclipse, Payne and Harris began to experience headaches and eye watering. Days later, the couple had vision impairment, including blurriness and distorted vision. The couple claimed they only looked at the sun using the eclipse glasses. 

A week before the Aug. 21 solar eclipse, Amazon sent a notice to customers advising not to use glasses that did not meet ISO 12312-2 standards. The company offered a full refund to anyone who had purchased unsafe glasses. 

But Payne and Harris did not get the memo. 

Now, they're dealing with costly medical bills.
