Measure J passed in Tuesday night's election.

The measure will provide over $502 million to the Kern Community College District.

Bakersfield College will be able to renovate old buildings and perform other maintenance. New classrooms will also be built.

Cerro Coso College and Porterville College will also benefit from the bond.

The bond needed 55% of votes to pass. Measure J had 62.4% of votes after the unofficial election count released Wednesday morning.
