A home invasion turned a bit grotesque Sunday evening when a stinky intruder was shot by an Ocala, Florida, homeowner.

 

The strangest part about the story? The intruder had poop smeared on him.

 

Victor Alex Etherington, 27, was transferred to intensive care after the incident, which started after he knocked on the 54-year-old homeowner’s window demanding she let him in, according to WFTV.

 

Although the woman told him to leave, Etherington reportedly kicked in the door and chased her upstairs to her bedroom. That’s when the woman locked the door, called 911 and armed herself with a .22 caliber handgun, she told investigators.

 

 Etherington, meanwhile, took off his shorts and forced his way into the closet, prompting the homeowner to shoot him in the stomach.

 

When deputies arrived, they found Etherington – who had defecated himself -- naked and hiding behind the bedroom door, the report said.

 

Etherington was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery. His condition is stable, though he is in the Intensive Care Unit.

 

Detectives say the man, who they believe lived in the home for over a decade before moving, was intoxicated. Charges in the bizarre incident are still pending.
