WASHINGTON — House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi has ordered flags at the U.S. Capitol be flown at half-staff due to the death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick.
Officer Sicknick died on Thursday due to injuries sustained while engaging protesters at the U.S. Capitol. According to reports Sicknick returned to his field office before he collapsed and was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Sicknick joined the Capitol Police in 2008. His death will be investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department's homicide branch as well as Federal law enforcement.
