A Starbucks customer in Florida is angry after claiming a drink he ordered came with an insulting note.

The man who did not want to be named said his Grande White Mocha beverage came with a label attached to the cup that read “Diabetes Here I Come.”

The customer said the mean-spirited note reminded him of his two sisters, both of whom have Type 1 diabetes.

For him, the insult was a nasty reminder of the struggle many people have to face and the widely held misconception that a poor diet is the only way a person can get the disease.

"Seeing and knowing the struggle my sisters went through by third, fourth grade, it definitely struck a nerve and I didn't just want to let it go," the Starbucks customer said.

According to TV station KFVS, the manager of the Starbucks location in question said he doesn't condone "that kind of behavior" from employees.

On Monday afternoon, a spokesperson for Starbucks issued an apology to the customer. According to Mashable, the statement read, "We strike to provide an inclusive and positive experience for our customers, and were disappointed to learn of this incident."

The statement ensured the company was working with its employees "to ensure this does not happen again."

The customer previously said he wasn't seeking an apology but just didn't want a similar thing to happen to anyone else.
