Massive snakes are a somewhat familiar sighting in Florida. But Maine? 

The Westbrook Maine Police Department posted a photo Saturday on Facebook of a massive snake skin and are warning people who venture on or around the Presumpscot River to be aware. 

The office is examining what type of snake the skin belongs to and what risks the snake might pose to the public. The snake skin was reported by a citizen near a carry-in boat launch.

The notice is not the first time the Westbrook Police Department warned people of a snake sighting. The office posted a warning on Facebook on June 29 that a large snake was seen eating a large mammal, possibly a beaver.
