A "Golden Girls" theme café is expected to open in New York, in honor of the 1980s sitcom, reports NBC New York.

Although Rue McClanahan who played Blanche Devereaux  passed away in 2010, a man who says she was his best friend hopes to carry on her character’s legacy.

Most of the original cast has since passed away, but Betty White who played Rose Nylund plans to attend the New York ribbon cutting in September.

The Rue La Rue Cafe menu will feature soups, wraps, salads, desserts, baked treats, wine, and not surprisingly, cheesecake.

Several of the other actors in the show have already passed away, including, Bea Arthur (Dorothy Zbornak), Rue McClanahan (Blanche Devereaux), Estelle Getty (Sophia Petrillo), Herb Edelman (Stan Zbornak), Harold Gould (Miles), Murray Hamilton ("Big Daddy").

The show originally aired for seven seasons.
