TROY, Ohio — One man’s post about a trooper’s assistance in his time of need has been shared over 88,800 times.

Mark Ross posted on Facebook saying that the story started when he learned that his sister had been killed in a car wreck. He was trying to find a way to rush to his family in Detroit when he jumped into a friend’s car and they sped that way.

On the way,  the car Ross was in was pulled over for speeding by Sergeant J. Davis, reports KFOR in Oklahoma City.

“I knew I was going to jail due to a petty warrant,” said Ross.

After Ross explained the situation, he writes, Sergeant Davis started to pray with him and even offered to drive him the final 100 miles to Detroit because police were forced to tow the vehicle he was riding in.

“I broke down crying and he saw the sincerity in my cry. He reaches over and began praying over me and my family,” said Ross in the post.

Ross even went to post that “Everybody knows how much I dislike cops but I am truly greatful [sic] for this guy. He gave me hope.”

KFOR went on to report that Ross was so grateful for the trooper’s help that they invited him to attend the funeral and he promised that he would.
