Michelle Rounds, the former wife of actress and comedienne Rosie O'Donnell, has died at age 46, multiple outlets report.

TMZ reports that Rounds committed suicide in her home on Monday. 

"I am saddened to hear about this terrible tragedy. Mental illness is a very serious issue affecting many families. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle's family, her wife and their child," O'Donnell said in a statement to TMZ.

Rounds and O'Donnell began dating in 2011 and were married in 2012. O'Donnell filed for divorce in 2015 citing an irretrievably broken relationship.
