As Texas deals with historic, aggressive flooding following Hurricane Harvey, the nation remembers Hurricane Katrina's devastation 12 years ago.

Katrina hit New Orleans, Louisiana on Aug. 29, 2005. it was the costliest natural disaster on record in the United States. More than 1,200 people died because of Hurricane Katrina.
