Donald Trump's final competitor is apparently throwing in the towel.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich — the last hopeful Republican presidential candidate contending against Trump for the party's nomination — is expected to address the media at 5 p.m. Eastern. The sudden announcement led to immediate speculation that Kasich was dropping out of the GOP race.
NBC News reported that Kasich was indeed suspending his campaign.
