Yet another way to ensure Jimi Hendrix’s legacy continues.

California researchers have reportedly named a newly discovered plant after Hendrix. Time reports a San Diego State University researcher found the rare plant in Baja California, Mexico.

The plant has been dubbed Dudleya hendrixii, or “Hendrix’s liveforever.”

Former graduate student Mark Dodero apparently discovered the plant while listening to Hendrix’s song “Voodoo Child.”

But what’s a liveforever?

According to Time, it’s a kind of succulent with an enormous lifespan, with this particular one measuring less than foot tall with pinkish white flowers.

Dudleya hendrixii reportedly dies in summer and re-sprouts in fall.
